Pauline was a research chemist who graduated from Penn State University and earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
She went on to work for Sterling-Winthrop Research Institute for over 40 years. It was during this time Pauline and her team obtained seven patents for cardiotonic and bactericidal medications along with authoring numerous articles published in various medical journals.
Pauline is most remembered for her advocacy for both women and human rights. While President of her local NOW (the National Organization for Women), she lobbied the New York State legislature to enact legislation securing personal rights and benefits for women, children, and families. She also continued to champion efforts for The Women’s Building and the Capital Region Legal Project. Pauline supported many animal shelters and organizations to fight homelessness.
Pauline passed away on February 1, 2011, and was elected to the Hall of Fame on what would have been her 99th birthday.
