Carol Burton McLeod graduated in 1977 from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English and a minor in Piano Performance, and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She has the distinction of being her alma mater’s first Women's Chaplain and the first woman to speak at the university's Vespers. Her dedication to her alma mater continues as a member of the Alumni Board. In 2021, she was recognized as Oral Roberts’ Alumna of the Year for her distinguished service to the university and to God.
Carol founded and is the CEO of Carol McLeod Ministries. She has traveled the country speaking at women’s conferences and retreats while also leading Bible Study locally at the YWCA to women of all denominations.
Carol is the author of multiple books including the Selah Award-winning At Home in Your Heart and the Director’s Choice Award-winning Rooms of a Mother’s Heart. The latter also won her a Telly Award for excellence in religious programming for her teaching DVD. Carol continues her service through her podcast, “Significant Women”, her many devotional writings on YouVersion, and a weekly blog, “Joy for the Journey.”
She is married to her college sweetheart and love of her life, Craig, who serves as Senior Pastor of Life Church near Buffalo, NY. Craig and Carol have been happily married since the late 1970s and have five children and multiple grandchildren.
