Carol Burton McLeod, ’73

Carol Burton McLeod graduated in 1977 from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English and a minor in Piano Performance and was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Carol founded and is currently the CEO of Just Joy! Ministries, through which she teaches at women’s conferences and retreats. She also leads weekly spring and fall Bible Study at the Batavia YWCA, to around 100 women from all denominations.

Carol has written three books, The Rooms of a Woman’s HeartDefiant Joy!, and Holy Estrogen. Her teaching DVD, The Rooms of a Woman’s Heart, won the Telly Award, a television industry award, for excellence in religious programming.

She has the distinction of being ORU’s first Women’s Chaplain and the first woman to speak at the university’s Vespers. She is married to her college sweetheart and the love of her life, Craig, who serves as senior pastor of Life Church near Buffalo, NY. Craig and Carol have been happily married since the late 1970s and are the parents of five children, and grandparents to five precious grandchildren!

From 1974 to 1996 Carol was a volunteer at the local, state, and national level for “Americas Junior Miss Scholarship Program” and currently sits on the Alumni Board of Oral Roberts University and has been elected the first Chaplain to the Alumni of ORU.
